LCK is pleased to announce the completion of the new United Way of the Midlands headquarters at 1818 Blanding Street. The new 20,000-square-foot
headquarters, a former warehouse facility that was repurposed into meeting and office spaces, is an eye-catching but practical solution for the non-profit
organization. The new space will expand the United Way’s collaboration with both its partners and the community through well-appointed meeting rooms
and office areas.
The United Way of the Midlands retained LCK to serve as its project manager to plan and manage the development from the early stages of feasibility analysis through team selection and construction to final ribbon cutting. LCK was instrumental in assembling just the right team of 1x1 Design and Mashburn Construction Company to bring the project to fruition. Wes Slice, LCK’s project manager, led the team all the way to the finish line, including the coordination and placement of furnishings.
United Way of the Midlands works to unite people and resources in order to improve quality of life in the Midlands. They serve six counties throughout the Midlands by partnering with leaders, businesses, non-profits and individuals.
“We were honored to serve as project manager for United Way of the Midlands for this headquarters project,” said Mickey Layden. “UWM does truly amazing work in the Columbia community and throughout the Midlands, and we hope that the new facility enables them to accomplish even more in the years to come.”
